I have no idea whats involved in developing an iPhone app, but am very impressed with the instant control and visual feedback given when using winamp and monkey remote.

I currently use touch screen Album Player and also the Melloware remote. The melloware remote is a little delayed, has too many buttons that do not do anything and is only one way - no visual interface is returned to the iPhone.

Is there a dedicated iPhone app in the pipeline?

No, but there is a development planned to use the iTunes remote control app to control AP.

I work on it now. But it will be only a available for an additional fee because it based on third party software which is licensed. I guess that will not be a problem for people waiting on this.
