Basically, the title says it all.

I know the the keyboard is shown via the "showKeyboard" command, but how do you configure a button to issue that command (or any command really)?

And is there a list of available commands somewhere? I searched help and around the forums but came up blank.

Any pointers?

Thanks

Well, I was able to pull this list out of the EXE itself. No idea how accurate or complete it is, but...

I did turn up these elements

Keyboard
KeyboardHideButton
KeyboardShowButton
KeyboardShowHideButton

And that KeyboardShowHideButton seems to do the trick (although it disappears when it's clicked, I'm guessing I'm missing state for it)

Ok, one more discovery.

Image names Checked and Unchecked appear to be displayed in certain states. At this point though, if the keyboard is displayed and you click and hold down the button, I still get a blank, so there must be another image name required.

What you looking for exactly. Buttons/Actions used in skins?

Exactly.

My first thought was there was a list of "commands" that you can have a button perform, but it appears more like there's a list of "button names" or maybe "control names" that, when you give a control that specific name, that's the function it executes.

So I was looking for a way to show and hide the onscreen keyboard without having to open up the preferences dialog (I'm putting AP on a jukebox, where I don't generally want people opening up preferences).

But I couldn't find any documentation on exactly what button names are available to be assigned.

Nostalgica only has a few elements related to the onscreen keyboard, but nothing that actually controlled when it showed.

I was hoping there'd be a comprehensive doc on the skinning elements available, but hadn't come across it yet.

No I am all on my own and there is no time to write such document. By the way I want to change AP just to make the keyboard appear when the user clicks an input field. That might be better anyhow

No problem, I understand the time constraints.

In reality, I think it WOULD be better to just automatically display the keyboard when necessary (ala an iPhone or win phone), and to be honest, it seems to mostly work that way right now.

I guess I was mainly curious how that worked, if it was possible, and, once I found that particular button name, what other goodies might be waiting in there :D
