I have checked the gamepad and the button in the properties section and itblinks every time i insert a coin,
every time i run the coin validator exe, it still keeps coming up with an error, and giving the option to continue or quit, when you continue the the inserting of coins in the mech doesn't do anything

Do you have programming skills? Otherwise it will be hard to determine what goes wrong. If you have, then run the program from me in the visual studio express environment to debug it and see what goes wrong. Maybe your controller name is slightly different. Mine is exactly:

Logitech(R) Precision(TM) Gamepad

The program looks exactly for a controller with this name.

The light that blinks in my setup when inserting a coin is button 7.

In the main post I now added a download for a console application that can be started from the commandline (see bottom of main post). http://forum.albumon.com/viewtopic.php?p=7582#7582

With this console app it is easy to add or set credits.

The console application is intended for people that want to make another coin acceptor to work.

I investigated the 0xc00135 error you get. I found that it is related to initialisation of application and can get this error when not having proper .NET version installed. I checked my app and saw I made a mistake, partly it needs .NET framework 3.5. I now changed everything to 2.0 . Please download it again from here:

And start it from the CoinValidator\bin directory . I hope it solves the problem.

Thanks for the command-line app, Peter. Works like a charm.

Could you also post the code for it ?

Thanks again.

Regards...

It is contained in the other download link (there are 3 projects in one solution file).

I tried that, and it comes up with
"unhndled exception has occurred in your appliction, if u click continue the application ignore this error and attempt to continue, if you click quit it will close
could not load file or assembly microsoft directx direct input
version =1.0.2902.0, culture = neutral
public key token=31bf3856ad364e35 or one of its dependencies, the system cannot find the file specified"
this probably makes more sense to you than to me. i have net framework 2.0 service pack two installed
thanks

May be it is a problem because I have installed the directx development kit. It should not be necessary normally to install, but may be I did something wrong. Sorry this whole thing takes such a long time. But I am already out of the country for allmost 6 weeks (with on week at home in the middle) and I can not do much now. To get it work it might be a plan for you also to install the direct x development kit. It is large but may be it helps.

I am sorry again that it took so long. I hope you understand the situation. I think i figured out which dll's are missing. You can download them here. http://www.albumon.com/attachments/DotNetDirectX.zip . Place them in the same directory as the exe file (bin directory i think).
