AlbumPlayer Alpha/BetaBrite Interface can now be downloaded from the web site below.

It now includes installer/uninstaller.

Note that this version does not support Windows Vista.

I have two questions:
1. Where can I find a sign that works with this? I checked ebay but only see USB ones?

2. Will this scroll lyrics from minilyrics?

I can't help with a source for serial signs I'm afraid. I obtained mine through eBay. The seller was a company that dealt with the disposal of business equipment. As you may know, the disposal of such equipment has to comply with strict laws (in UK) and consequently there are many companies that specialise in this. They charge companies to take it away and, in some cases, sell it on. The Alpha signs were/are very expensive so not really consumer items and therefore likely to be rare. If I was looking for another, I would try and track down some disposal companies.

Sadly I cannot implement USB support for two reasons:
1. I don't have access to a USB sign and drivers.
2. I don't have the necessary Delphi programming component(s) to communicate with a USB device.
(If anyone knows of a suitable Delphi component perhaps they would let me know.)

AAI can only receive windows messages that AlbumPlayer exports. Unfortunately, AP does not export mini lyrics data (unless I missed it in the ap_info_interface document).

Sorry I could not have been of more help.

I just tried to run this on win7 64 bit and it doesn't launch at all. Nothing happens.

Is there any more support planned for this? Just ordered a betabrite and was hoping to use it with albumplayer.

There was one other jukebox program that supports betabrite, but I didn't enjoy the demo of that program.

What other jukebox program supports the BetaBrite?

freebox, but I found the program to be very buggy and the interface is horrible compared to albumplayer.

I have just tried AAI on Win 7 32bit and, apart from an initial error screen which can be safely ignored, it runs just fine. I am unable to confirm correct operation on Win 7 64bit but I would have thought it would be fine too.

Is AlbumPlayer installed and working correctly? AAI will refuse to start at all if it cannot detect the presence of AlbumPlayer.

Also, please be aware that while AAI may start up ok, it will only talk to a serial sign - there is no USB support and currently no plans to implement it.

I will look into the error mentioned above. Note that it has no impact on either AAI or AlbumPlayer and is nothing more than an annoyance.

Albumplayer is installed and working fine. Still no luck getting the program to launch.

I just have the demo installed now, not sure if that makes a difference or not.

jeffb -
Yes, that's the problem. AAI does not detect the demo version!!
I have sent you a PM with the location where you can get a modified Alpha Interface.exe that does work with the demo. Just overwrite your current version. You should find that it now starts up ok (but please ignore the error message - I'm still looking into that). Let me know how it goes.

I remotely logged in to my computer at home and tried this, it works fine now.

Thanks a lot!

I will be buying the full version of albumplayer for sure. Easily the best jukebox software I have tried, and I think I have tried them all.

Version 3.1 should be available for download in a couple of days after final testing is completed.

Version 3.1 is now available for download (minus the annoying error message! :D ).
It now supports XP, Vista and Windows 7 and works with AP demo too.
There is no additional functionality over version 3.0.

Thanks to jeffb for his assistance.

Hello, and thank you to all who have made this possible, it's a great idea!

I'm looking to purchasing a sign, I'm looking at a ALPHA 4160C, it's a 2 line display, my question is, will this add on for album player allow you to show different information on the 2 different lines? like title on one line and artist on the other line?

thanks,
Brian
