I installed Albumplayer demo in Windows 8 to work together with JPLAY. In albumplayer I set the output to ASIO JPLAY and bingo, everyhting works perfect.

I shut down Windows, come back the next day, I start up Albumplayer and I get the following message:
Can't Start ASIO output
(error code: -1)

Un installed JPLAY and albumplayer and re-installed, but that did not have any effect.

Has anyone an idea?

Can you bring up your asio control panel? Sounds like something has gone awry in your asio or soundcard drivers. Try debugging it outside of AP if you can.

I had JPlay installed and I was able to open the settings from JPlay. Maybe it has something to do with the install of Windows Media Center.

I really like the looks & feel of AP but I guess I have to look for something else because of the many issues (I have).

Besides the issue with the JPLAY driver you write you have many issues. Are all those issues not all caused by the fact the AP doesn't detect the JPLAY driver again? I feel that maybe driver name or identification is changed and AP is looking for a driver which is not there. You might delete the albumplayer.ini (from c:\albumplayerdata) to be able to start with fresh AP settings.

Well, I did that already.

I was installing a new HTPC using Windows 8 and if I remember right, the error occurred after I installed Windows Media Center. So I uninstalled AP and JPlay, rebooted and I re-installed them both but alas got the same error.

WASAPI did work.

Reinstall AP most of time doesn't help, only deleting the albumplayer.ini might do, because you start fresh settings.
