Hi, All/Peter

just a quick question: i have a lot of albums displayed as CD cases in the main album view - I'd like to hopefuly change them all at once to the plain square picture artwork, i can of course do this individually but wondered if I opened the Albums.mdb file in a database editor that there is a field i can select to change them all at once
thanks. Sean

Hi Sean,

Peter doesn't seem to be around much lately. The option that seems the most likely is the "Mediatype" option in the attributes field of the Albums table. Try changing one and see if it has your desired effect.

thanks Glen, I can see the media type code, it turns out this would take longer than changing them one by one unfortunately, lol, anyway nothing ventrured...

I guess if I get my default media type when loading new material was hardcoded to '5' (just plain image) and not the CD jewel case ('0') I wouldn't ever need to deal with it - this would suite me as i've no reason to update from 5.3 :)

cheers, Sean

Update - it turns out I think the value to change from '0' to '5' is in the .ini file and gets overwritten by AP when it starts and my value gets taken back to 0 (as it should)is there a way to tell album player to not create new/overwrite my .ini file ?

Hi Sean. Why? Just open the table in Access and replace all occurrences of mediaType="0" with mediaType="5"

?

Which .ini option are you referring to Sean?

Thanks Glenn, yes I maybe need to look again at my Database prog and try what you suggest, I'm not very fluent with it (it's not MS Access but it should do what you said).

My ini file is AlbumPlayer.ini from the C:\AlbumPlayerData folder. I did think there was a value in there that coud be changed to default to the square image (not CD tray image) but I was getting out of my depth probably :) .

Thanks for the help so far.
