Well I took the plunge and went for version 6!
It looked OK until I lost all my covers!!
Why can I see a cover if I go for 'Edit Album' but it does not appear once updated?
Do I have to delete my complete library (5400+ albums) and re-scan?
Scratch that I have just deleted 20 albums & re-scanned, the covers DO NOT COME UP!!
Whats with the odd pictures on the left hand side?
Can I delete them? I would like to see the albums not some random picture.
When I go to the playlist can I make the album art bigger like in version 5.3?
Whats with the blurry background?
Can I turn off the scrolling images in playlist?
What has happened to the the little graphic peak meter? I liked it!

I generally like the look but the bugs and odd things will make me go back to version 5.3
unless someone can tell me how to fix the problems.

I have had 42 views of my post. Any comments??
So I have been trying to get the covers to come up.
It does not work. What am I doing wrong????
I have noticed quite a few people commenting that the odd picture on the left is unwanted.
Can this be switched off so we get some screen real estate back. Ver. 6.1 anyone?
Why are the A - Z buttons so small? Button size was supposed to be addressed in version 6.

I am having a similar issue with covers that had been displaying ok and are now replaced with a black square.
I can rescan and select a cover individually but on a large collection this really isn't a viable option.
Any ideas Peter as to what may be causing this?

Gave up with version 6.
I have not been using albumplayer because ver 6 is so bad.
Rolled back to Version 5.3e.
IT'S GREAT! IT WORKS
Long live version 5.3!

Hi, was it much of a headache rolling back to v5.3?
I'm seriously considering giving up on v6 altogether, the program crashes regularly, cover art disappears, playlists don't work and it looks like support for the program has ended.
Its a pity because v6 could have been so good. :(

I rolled back to version 5.3 and I am loving albumplayer again.
It was a pain at first, i could not find it on the support page.
I found I had a copy saved on my backup disc.
Re-installed it and it just works.
I had to delete the albums from the database and read them in again.
It has missed a couple of covers but I can live with that, they are easy to edit and version 5.3 remembers them unlike version 6!

Come on Peter you can do better than this, I thought version 6 was finished not just a buggy beta version still.

I managed to reinstall v5.3 again.
Up to now not too many issues in the conversion, but hey all my cover artwork now works, which were missing on v6.
I agree v5.3 is a much more stable option.
Can't tell you how disappointed i am having to give up on v6.

Is this the end of development for AP?

Hopefully not...

For me V6 is better ... only some small bugs ... hopfully fixed soon as possible.
I have installed V6 and only 10 covers are gone.
Re-imported and now it works perfectly.

Hi Pixel, when i tried to rescan my covers even though they displayed ok once inside the album, they were still black when you returned to the grid view.
I have also had problems with v6 freezing and then crashing, which when you are having a party session is no use at all.

Sad to hear that.
I have only a few minor bugs.
The music playback works perfectly, for months.

I've been using Ver 6.0 from the outset, having used previous versions and have experienced no issues whatsoever. I have over 55000+ songs contained in their respective albums and all covers etc are there and loving this new version. Is it a memory problem on your machines perhaps?

Its really strange, i have also been using v6 throughout all of the beta releases and into the final release. The artwork problem has only been recently noticed, but i have a large collection (+100k songs) and it may have been there for a while but unnoticed. More and more cover art has stopped working and rescanning the albums doesn't resolve the issue.
Yet ironically, going back to 5.3 with the same music collection has solved all the cover art issues using the same image files that were not displaying on v6.
I didn't take the decision lightly to go back to v5.3 as i love the contemporary feel of v6 but i still think there are bugs that need to be resolved, and a lack of presence in terms of support.
