Can you move a track from Various Artist to its correct Album?
eg: I have an album by A-ha called Scoundrel Days and there is a song missing. It's located elsewhere in Various Artists.
How do I move that track from Various Artists to Scoundrel Days in AlbumPlayer?

You use the album editor. There add the track manualy to the proper album.

Do you know why that happened? Is there an issue with the filename or the tags? Or did it look up wrong?
It's good to try to find the root cause, fix that, and also fix the issue with the album.

In actual fact I have all my music files filed incorrectly. I have my music folders like this - Artists like ABBA filed under folder A and The Beatles under folder B, etc. I have never had them actually filed under their names or album. I will be spending the next 12 months refiling them all correctly before I get a chance to use the AP.

Don't spent a year refiling. Just try a different scanning template if your naming on your entire collection is consistent.

If you have C:\music\A\Abba\album\
then try adding a %Skip% to the scan template before artist\album.

Can you post a short directory listing of a few albums that you have? If you have them all the same and have always used the same structure, the scan for new tracks should be able to adapt to that.

Is your collection mostly MP3? Do you know if the mp3 tags are correct?

I just think you have AP not configured to look up albums correctly.

Thanks xblkx for taking time in helping me out.

I feel a bit embarrassed because really I don't know too much about a lot of the technical jargon.

Over the years I never placed them in albums just in a External Hard-drive and in a folder like this eg:
Abba, Aerosmith, AC/DC in F:\My Music\A\
Beatles, Bob Dylan, Bon Jovi in F:\My Music\B\, etc, etc.
and they are all mp3's plus I had them transferred to iTunes and when I purchase from iTunes I also convert them to mp3's as well.
I then alter them on the program (iTunes) to their appropriate album and tracks.

I'm just an old 52-y-o fart who loves music and I thought what I was doing was the correct and easy way of organising my music files.

You can imagine that over the years I have a huge collection, starting with my old LP's, cassette's, CD's transferred and now mp3's in a ever changing world.

I have 3 daughter's who love their music and a lot of their music are stored there as well.

We all have iPhones and use iTunes as well to transfer music.

So that's it really.

Cheers :D
